  1. Hi Emily!
Have you ever had your colours done?
What’s your opinion about people having their colours done?

  2. I think I mix different capsules wardrobes: I have my clothes by color in my closet and I have a seasonal wardrobe on a rack with a definite colour palette but I keep pulling some items from my closet according to different inspirations within the season. I don’t keep away any clothes as I shop sometimes off season and I want to see what I already own so I don’t buy duplicate….

  3. Modules is 2 syllables not 3 🙄

  4. Thanks Emily! ❤

  5. @synnacastroman3813 November 18, 2024 at 9:57 am

    I love your clothes!

  6. @ivanajukicgloban6627 November 18, 2024 at 9:58 am

Thank you!Another great and very educational and helpful video❤👌

  7. As I was listening today, I remembered that in years past, before ‘capsule’ wardrobe was a thing, I had just that. I raised3 kids as a single mom and couldn’t afford much. Everything I bought and owned could be interchanged with each other and I didn’t have any prints. I think I probably had 30 pieces because that’s all I could afford. Now that my children are grown, I have more disposable income & way too many clothes. It’s funny how your videos always make me reflect on what’s important and letting go of the unnecessary. Thank you for the great video! 🥰

  8. I have a seasonal CW for years. I also try to choose items that can fit for hot and cold season. Shirts entered my wardrobe thanks to you, e.g. Thank you for your useful videos in my quest of sustainability 👌

  9. @tanyaevers-jordan8624 November 18, 2024 at 10:02 am

I’d like a video on how to curate an office capsule wardrobe, as suiting and jackets are very expensive investment pieces. How many pieces to get 30 different looks?

  10. Can you give advice for someone on a low budget who wants to build a more refined style

  11. @nadialetourneau4490 November 18, 2024 at 10:05 am

I live in Montreal, Canada and have a core C.W. all year long with seasonal capsule to punch it!

  12. Emily your content is always so well thought out and helpful. Thank you. I think I’m a highbred of foundational and seasonal. Found-seasonal? Sea-dational? Definitely in the middle. So much so I can’t see the difference between the Minimalist and the Essential wardrobes in your examples. Does the minimalist change over the wardrobe seasonly whereas the Essential stays more strict with just 30 or fewer pieces and what they have is always out? Not that I’m ever going to get there, I LOVE the seasonal change over and sometimes even make up seasons within seasons. Again, thank you for all you do.

  13. I have an all season wardrobe that I wear year round with the exception of one or 2 pieces that I only wear in one season, ie. a summer dress or a chunky winter sweater. As I live in Canada, it’s boots in the winter & chucks in the summer & I layer my lighter tops in the winter so I can still wear them all. My closet usually hovers around 30 pieces & they’re all interchangeable. I’ve been doing this since I was a teenager, long before capsule wardrobes were a thing. I never dreamed it would become an actual concept, lol.

  14. I was raised on a capsule wardrobe when capsule was a word referring to space LOL

  15. I definitely have a multiple modular wardrobe, because what I have to wear to work is not what I like to wear everyday. I do however need to work on thinning out my massive wardrobe so it is a little more cohesive. Thank you for explaining the differences.

  16. So helpful! Thank you 😊

  17. I’m modules capsule wardrobe. Work (all suits), sports/sporty (all pants), semi formal (all dresses), casual (all skirts and shorts)

  18. I have to watch this video again when I’m not doing Pilates, because I feel like I identify with all the capsule types in one regard or another. I’m definitely a minimalist, but realize that I also have to have some boho. And despite being in 4 season Chicago I wear a lot of my pieces year round. Lots to think about before the replay. Now back to my figures 4s. 🙂

  19. i have a 4-season work/personal capsule with 35pcs + a 4-season activewear capsule with 19pcs (outerwear included, shoes/access. excluded).
these are subject to fluctuation (my work/personal capsule may be 25-40), but i have all my bases covered & it’s so easy to get dressed. the work/personal grouping has button ups/blazers/skirts/trousers that can be paired with sweaters/tanks/tees/jeans/shorts to achieve the balance of professional vs. casual that i need for any particular day.
activewear is separate so i don’t sweat in or destroy "regular" clothes.

  20. Just started in the Fall at the you of age of 44 😅 to create a wardrobe that’s not multicolor in every dang piece 😆
Also had a change in my body…flat chested now and all Natural now👏🏼🎉🤷🏻‍♀️ so I’ve been looking style I’m comfortable in. Maybe next Fall I’ll create a capsule 🤩
Pretty pls do a weeks worth of outfits. You likely have 🤔 but a new video 😍

  21. So glad I found you. You have the same outlook on fashion as I do. I enjoy the outfits and the content. Thank you!

  22. I’m curious if you’ve heard of the 10 item wardrobe? I don’t really understand it because it seems it’s deceiving since it actually has more than 10 items.

  23. I am working on a black white and tan wardrobe so this seems perfect.

  24. @tatianawhittingstall7571 November 18, 2024 at 10:21 am

Hi we have 4 seasons in the UK so definately a seasonal CW works best for me, and as you say its nice to be reunited with much loved jumpers come the winter time again.

  25. I have a large walk-in-robe so am lucky that I have a lot of space – my capsule wardrobe easily has over 100 items and has clothes for all seasons – my entire wardrobe is made up of black, white and red including my accessories like scarves, beanies, bags, belts and shoes – no other colours, just black, white and red. While I don’t do stripes I have a few abstract patterns and my bit of extra is florals. I very rarely buy new, most come from OpShops and markets as I love things that are different to the mainstream and I don’t follow fashion trends – I absolutely love my wardrobe.

  26. @edurnegrijalba6464 November 18, 2024 at 10:23 am

    You are always super helpful!
I’m definitely a seasonal CW girl! But with a twist, I have one core neutral CW for every season of 15-20 peaces, and then I add another one of 15-20 peaces that I change every month. That way I change the vibe, the color palet and patterns so often and I don’t get bored. Every month is exciting and I’m learning to avoid shopping like crazy!

  27. @ainsliefreeman5461 November 18, 2024 at 10:23 am

Thanks so much for making minimalism and a capsule wardrobe so easy to understand.
Much appreciated … l’m working on it !

  28. Back in the day, we called it ¨mix and match¨ wardrobe and a ¨hand me down¨ wardrobe. Can anybody relate?

  29. Great video! Lots of insight 💕 I love stripes too!

  30. @conniepleasantnails November 18, 2024 at 10:29 am

I had to watch this video twice because I just needed to let this sink in…I got work to do. I put on a blouse I bought some months ago and pulled it off so fast my head turned. 😂 I realized the root reason why I like your channel so much. When I look at all of your pieces you feature they are mostly pretty casual but you style them so well I barely realized how casual your items are. I have a super casual lifestyle and I keep feeling like I don’t have many outfit options, and it’s because I need more basics. 🤦🏻‍♀️💡 I need to stop buying things that I can’t style with other items. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Plus I need to hang the right things together so I can see my options. Thank you Emily the lights are finally turning on ❤

  31. Thank you so much for another great video!👌 The theory behind the different types of capsules really clears up much confusion👏 However, I have come to realize that I’m a maximalist – I love colour so much that I need a rainbow of options, and love to dress in one colour top to toe😍 So, as many maximalists I’m drowning in clothes. Online searches provide no help for maximalists to set limits. I think starting on modules will be a good beginning, but could you perhaps come up a few guidelines for exploded wardrobes that still give a lot of options, both with different colours and styles (as we are a few who like to play with many styles), as well as 4 different seasons? Maybe not with a lot of pictures, but just like today, easy, brilliant diagrams?❤

  32. Great video ♥

  33. Very useful, Emily. I keep going back to my wardrobe because I want to have less items both in clothing and in shoes. I recently pulled out things that I either have duplicates of and/or just don’t spark interest anymore. My plan is to try all these items on just to make sure that I haven’t pulled out something that will truly work for me. Thanks again for your wardrobe wisdom.

  34. Thanks so much for the breakdown of variations in capsule wardrobes. I’ve been reworking for awhile and building out a wardrobe that really works for me. The majority of my efforts have been focused on what I can now identify as a Foundational Core CW! Working now on adding a couple of core colors per season to keep it interesting…

  35. At 4:17 I could tell that was a module created by Daria Andronescu without even checking the link, her take on the whole module/capsule wardrobe thing is so recognisable and unique, she’s almost the only person I can think of who incorporates a whole metric ton of colour into everything. (I also follow her here on Youtube, she’s well worth checking out!!)

  36. Great ideas

  37. I’m trying Emily. It’s so hard for me. Love your wardrobe! 😊Thanks!

  38. This helps clarify, I do get confused listening to different approaches. 💖

  39. Love love love your content ❤

  40. I’ve done seasonal CW for most of my adult life. I’ve done the essentials too, around 50 pieces or so, including accessories. Options was challenging, then I totally loved it. Might try it again for this spring.

  41. watching this 3 days late, BOY worth the wait!

  42. @janetarmistead6180 November 18, 2024 at 10:47 am

I have followed you for several years. This is one of my favorite videos that you have done!

  43. Fabulous video.

  44. Very good!!! In SC we mainly have 3 seasons….love your videos ❣️

  45. Great timing, Emily – I am currently ruthlessly curating my wardrobe. I find I wear the same outfits again and again, and I have recently invested in some good quality pieces that I know I will wear for years. Never thought I would say this, but after watching this video I am edging towards an Essentials CW. Feels like a bit of a weight off my shoulders (pardon the pun 🙂 Really appreciate your advice. Clara
